Bible Verse
Psalm 63:1
“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek You; I thirst for
You, my whole being longs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no
water.”
Devotional
Every person has a deep longing in their heart. Sometimes we
try to fill that longing with success, possessions, relationships, or
achievements. Yet even after gaining many things, the heart can still feel
empty.
Psalm 63:1 expresses a powerful desire for God. David
describes his longing for the Lord as a thirst in a dry and weary land. Just as
our bodies need water to survive, our souls need the presence of God to truly
live.
Seeking God means more than simply knowing about Him. It
means desiring His presence, spending time in His Word, and drawing near to Him
in prayer. When our hearts begin to seek God sincerely, we discover that He is
the only one who can truly satisfy our deepest needs.
In a world that often distracts us with many things, God
invites us to seek Him first. When we pursue a relationship with Him, He fills
our hearts with peace, purpose, and joy that cannot be found anywhere else.
Today, let your heart seek God. Take time to pray, read His
Word, and draw close to Him. When we sincerely seek the Lord, we will find that
He is always ready to meet us with His presence and love.
Prayer
Lord, You are my God, and my heart longs for You. In a world full
of distractions, help me to seek You with all my heart. Fill my soul with Your presence and guide me to grow closer
to You each day. Teach me to find my true satisfaction in You alone. In Jesus name, Amen.
