Bible Verse
Psalm 56:3
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.”
Devotional
Fear is something that every person experiences at different
moments in life. Sometimes we fear the future, unexpected problems, illness, or
situations that feel beyond our control. In those moments, fear can easily fill
our hearts and disturb our peace.
King David wrote Psalm 56 during a time when he was
surrounded by danger and uncertainty. Yet in the middle of his fear, he made a
powerful choice, he chose to trust God. Instead of allowing fear to control his
heart, he turned to the Lord.
This verse teaches us that trusting God does not mean we
will never feel afraid. Even faithful believers can experience fear. However,
what matters is what we do when fear comes. David shows us the right response:
we bring our fears to God and place our trust in Him.
God is greater than any situation we face. When we trust
Him, our fear begins to lose its power over us. His presence brings comfort,
strength, and peace to our hearts.
Whatever fear you may be facing today, remember that you are
not alone. God is with you, and you can place your trust in Him.
Prayer
Lord, You know the fears and worries that sometimes fill my heart.
Help me to trust You whenever I feel afraid. Remind me that You are always with
me and that nothing is beyond Your power. Fill my heart with Your peace and
give me the courage to trust You in every situation. In Jesus name, Amen.
