Bible Verse
John 13:34
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved
you, so you must love one another.”
Devotional
On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus gave His
disciples a very important command. In John 13:34, He said, “Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” This command is simple, yet
it carries a deep and powerful meaning.
Jesus did not just tell us to love others in an ordinary
way. He asked us to love others the same way He loves us. The love of Jesus is
patient, sacrificial, forgiving, and unconditional. It is a love that serves
others and puts their needs before our own.
In everyday life, loving others is not always easy. We may
encounter people who hurt us, misunderstand us, or act unkindly toward us.
However, Jesus calls us to respond with love rather than anger or bitterness.
When we choose to love others, we reflect the heart of
Christ. Our actions can become a powerful testimony of God’s love to the world
around us. Through kindness, forgiveness, compassion, and humility, we show
others what the love of Jesus looks like in real life.
Loving one another also strengthens the community of
believers. When Christians truly love one another, they create an environment
filled with encouragement, support, and unity.
Today, ask God to help you love others the way Jesus loves
you. Even small acts of kindness, patience, and forgiveness can make a big
difference in someone’s life.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for loving me with a perfect and unconditional
love. Help me to follow Your command to love others the way You love me. Teach
me to be patient, kind, and forgiving. Let my words and actions reflect Your
love so that others may see You through my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
