2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and
of love and of a sound mind.”
Devotional
Fear can often creep into our lives through uncertainty,
challenges, or negative thoughts. It can make us feel weak, anxious, and unsure
of ourselves. However, 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us of a powerful truth: fear does
not come from God.
Instead, God has given us a spirit of power, love, and a
sound mind. This means that as believers, we are equipped with His strength to
face challenges, His love to overcome negativity, and His wisdom to make the
right decisions.
Faith over fear begins with understanding our identity in
God. When fear tries to take hold, we can remind ourselves that God has already
given us what we need to stand firm. His power strengthens us when we feel
weak. His love drives out fear and fills our hearts with peace. His sound mind
helps us stay calm and focused even in difficult situations.
We may still experience moments of fear, but we do not have
to be controlled by it. Instead, we can choose to trust God’s truth over our
feelings. When we rely on Him, fear loses its grip, and we gain confidence to
move forward.
God’s presence within us empowers us to live boldly and
faithfully. We are not alone, and we are not helpless. We are strengthened by
His Spirit every day.
Today, choose to walk in the spirit that God has given you.
Let His power, love, and peace guide your heart, and refuse to let fear take
control.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for giving me a spirit of power, love, and a sound
mind. When fear tries to overwhelm me, remind me that it does not come from
You. Fill me with Your strength, Your peace, and Your wisdom. Help me to trust
in You and to walk boldly in faith each day. In Jesus name, Amen.
