Bible Verse
John 15:5
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me
and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
Devotional
In our daily lives, it is easy to become busy with many
responsibilities, plans, and worries. Sometimes we try to rely on our own
strength to accomplish everything. Yet Jesus reminds us in John 15:5 that our
true strength comes from remaining connected to Him.
Jesus describes Himself as the vine and us as the branches.
A branch cannot live or produce fruit if it is separated from the vine. In the
same way, our spiritual life grows and becomes fruitful only when we stay close
to Christ.
Abiding in Christ means maintaining a close relationship
with Him every day. We remain in Him when we spend time reading His Word,
praying, trusting Him, and allowing His truth to guide our decisions. Through
this relationship, His life flows into us and transforms our hearts.
When we stay connected to Christ, our lives begin to produce
spiritual fruit such as love, peace, patience, kindness, and faith. These
qualities reflect God's work within us and become a blessing to others around
us.
Today, remember that you do not have to live life relying on
your own strength. Stay connected to Christ, and let His life flow through you.
When you abide in Him, your life will bear fruit that brings glory to God.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for inviting me to remain in You. Help me to stay
close to You each day through Your Word and through prayer. Teach me to depend
on You instead of my own strength. Let my life bear good fruit that reflects
Your love and Your grace. In Jesus name, Amen.
