Bible Verse
Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not
be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you
wherever you go.”
Devotional
Life often places us in situations that feel overwhelming.
We may face new challenges, uncertain decisions, or moments when we feel alone
and unsure about what to do next. In those times, fear and discouragement can
easily fill our hearts.
In Joshua 1:9, God gives Joshua a powerful command and
promise. He tells him to be strong and courageous, not because Joshua is strong
on his own, but because God Himself will be with him wherever he goes.
Joshua had been given a great responsibility to lead the
people of Israel into the Promised Land. It was a task that could easily make
anyone feel afraid. Yet God did not simply give Joshua instructions, He also
gave him assurance of His presence.
This promise is not only for Joshua. It is a reminder for
all believers that God’s presence goes with us in every situation. We do not
face life’s challenges alone. When we walk through uncertainty, God walks with
us. When we feel weak, His strength supports us.
Because God is with us, we can face life with courage. Our
confidence does not come from our abilities but from the One who walks beside
us.
Today, whatever challenge you are facing, remember that God
is with you. His presence brings strength, comfort, and courage for every step
you take.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for Your promise that You are always with me. When
I feel afraid or discouraged, remind me that I am never alone. Fill my heart
with courage and strengthen my faith to trust You in every situation. Help me
walk forward with confidence, knowing that Your presence goes with me wherever
I go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
