Proverbs 16:9
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord
establishes their steps.”
Devotional
As human beings, we naturally make plans for our lives. We
think about our future, set goals, and decide the direction we want to take.
Planning is a normal and wise part of life. However, Proverbs 16:9 reminds us
that even though we make our plans, it is ultimately the Lord who directs our
steps.
Sometimes our plans do not unfold the way we expected. Doors
may close, opportunities may change, or we may find ourselves on a path we
never imagined. In those moments, we might feel confused or disappointed. Yet
this verse gently reminds us that God is still in control.
God sees the whole picture of our lives, past, present, and
future. While we can only see a small part of the journey, He knows the
destination and the purpose behind every step. Even when our plans change, God
is still faithfully guiding us.
Trusting God’s guidance means surrendering our plans to Him.
It means believing that His wisdom is greater than our understanding and that
His direction will always lead us to what is best for us.
When we walk with God, we learn to trust His timing and His
path. Sometimes His guidance leads us through unexpected roads, but each step
is part of His loving plan for our lives.
Today, remember that while you may plan your way, it is the
Lord who directs your steps. Trust Him with your plans, and allow Him to lead
you into the future He has prepared.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for guiding my life with Your wisdom and love.
Even when my plans do not go the way I expect, help me to trust that You are
directing my steps. Teach me to surrender my plans to You and follow Your
guidance each day. Lead me on the path that You have prepared for me. In Jesus name, Amen.
