Proverbs 16:9
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord
establishes their steps.”
Devotional
Making plans is a natural part of life. We think about our
future, set goals, and decide what direction we want to take. Planning can help
us move forward and stay focused on the things we want to achieve.
However, Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that while we may make our
plans, it is ultimately the Lord who directs our steps. Sometimes our plans do
not work out the way we expected. Doors may close, circumstances may change,
and the path ahead may look different from what we imagined.
In those moments, it is important to remember that God sees
what we cannot see. His understanding is far greater than ours. What may feel
like a setback could actually be God guiding us toward something better that we
cannot yet understand.
Trusting God’s guidance means being willing to place our
plans in His hands. It means praying for wisdom, listening to His Word, and
allowing Him to lead us even when the path seems uncertain.
Today, remember that God lovingly directs the steps of those
who trust Him. When we walk with Him, we can be confident that He is leading us
toward His good purpose.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for guiding my life. Sometimes my plans do not go
the way I expect, but help me to trust that Your plans are always better. Give
me wisdom to seek Your direction and courage to follow where You lead. Place my
steps on the path You have prepared for me. In Jesus name, Amen.
