Bible Verse
Colossians 3:12
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved,
clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and
patience.”
Devotional
As followers of Christ, our lives are meant to reflect the
character of God. The way we treat others should show the love and grace that
we have received from Him.
In Colossians 3:12, the Apostle Paul reminds believers that
we are God’s chosen people, loved by Him. Because of this identity, we are
called to “clothe ourselves” with qualities that reflect God’s
heart; compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
The image of clothing is very meaningful. Just as we choose
what to wear each day, we also choose how we treat others. Kindness is not only
a feeling but also a decision. It is expressed through our words, our actions,
and the way we respond to people around us.
Living in kindness means showing care to those who are
hurting, speaking gently to those who are struggling, and offering patience
even when situations are difficult. Through small acts of kindness, we can
reflect the love of Christ in everyday life.
Today, remember that you are deeply loved by God. Let that
love shape the way you treat others. Choose compassion, kindness, and humility,
and allow your life to become a reflection of God’s grace in the world.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for loving me and choosing me as Your child. Help
me to live in a way that reflects Your character. Teach me to clothe myself with compassion, kindness,
humility, gentleness, and patience. Let my words and actions show Your love to
the people around me each day. In Jesus name, Amen.
