Bible Verse
Matthew 6:33
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all
these things will be given to you as well.”
Devotional
In our daily lives, we often focus on many different
things; work, responsibilities, finances, plans, and worries about the future.
These things can easily take the first place in our hearts and minds. When that
happens, we may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or spiritually distant from God.
Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33 that our priority should be
to seek God first. Seeking God means placing Him at the center of our lives. It
means spending time with Him in prayer, reading His Word, and desiring to live
according to His will.
When we seek God first, our perspective begins to change.
Instead of constantly worrying about what we need, we learn to trust that God
already knows our needs. Our loving Father understands every detail of our
lives and promises to care for us.
Seeking God first does not mean ignoring our
responsibilities. Rather, it means trusting God to guide our decisions and
placing Him above everything else. When God is first in our hearts, the rest of
life begins to fall into its proper place.
Today, take a moment to put God first in your life. Spend
time in His presence and trust that He will faithfully provide what you need.
Prayer
Lord, Help me to seek You first in every part of my life. When I
become distracted by worries and responsibilities, remind me to return my focus
to You. Teach me to trust Your provision and to follow Your will each day. May
my heart always desire Your kingdom above everything else. In Jesus name, Amen.
