Proverbs 9:10

knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Devotional
Many people search for wisdom in different places; through
experience, education, or advice from others. While these things can be
helpful, the Bible reminds us that true wisdom begins with one important
foundation: the fear of the Lord.
In Proverbs 9:10, we learn that the fear of the Lord is the
beginning of wisdom. This kind of fear does not mean being afraid of God in a
negative way. Instead, it means having deep reverence, respect, and honor for
Him. It is recognizing God’s greatness, holiness, and authority over our lives.
When we truly honor God, we begin to see life from His
perspective. Our decisions, attitudes, and actions are guided by His truth
rather than our own understanding. This leads us to live with wisdom, humility,
and obedience.
The verse also reminds us that knowing God brings
understanding. As we grow in our relationship with Him through prayer, reading
His Word, and walking in obedience, He gives us insight and direction for our
lives.
True wisdom is not just about knowing many things, it is
about living in a way that honors God. When we place Him first in our lives, He
guides our paths and helps us make wise choices.
Today, choose to seek God with a humble heart. When we
respect and honor Him, He fills our lives with wisdom that leads to peace and
purpose.
Prayer
Lord, Teach me to honor and respect You in every area of my life.
Help me to seek Your wisdom instead of relying only on my own understanding.
Draw me closer to You so that I may know You more each day. Guide my thoughts,
decisions, and actions so that my life reflects Your truth and wisdom. In Jesus name, Amen.
