1 Corinthians 15:20
“But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the
firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”
Devotional
1 Corinthians 15:20 reminds us of a powerful truth at the
center of our faith, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is called the
“firstfruits,” meaning He is the beginning and the guarantee of what is to
come. Because He rose from the dead, we have the assurance of new life and
eternal hope.
Preparing our hearts begins with understanding this truth.
The resurrection is not just an event to remember, but a reality that
transforms our lives. It reminds us that death does not have the final word,
and that God’s power is greater than any darkness we may face.
A prepared heart is a heart that believes in the risen
Christ. It is a heart filled with hope, knowing that no matter what we go
through, God is working toward a greater purpose. Even in times of loss, pain,
or uncertainty, we can hold on to the promise of life that Jesus has secured
for us.
The resurrection also calls us to live differently. It
invites us to leave behind old ways and step into the new life that God has
given us. When our hearts are prepared, we live with purpose, joy, and
confidence in God’s promises.
Preparing our hearts means fixing our eyes on Christ,
remembering His victory, and allowing that victory to shape how we live each
day. It means living with hope, not fear, and trusting in the future God has
prepared.
Today, take time to reflect on the risen Christ. Let your
heart be filled with hope and renewed faith, knowing that His victory is also
your victory.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for the resurrection of Jesus and the hope it
brings to my life. Prepare my heart to fully understand and live in this truth.
Help me to trust in Your promises and to walk in the new life You have given
me. Fill my heart with hope, joy, and faith each day. In Jesus name, Amen.
