Bible Verse
Psalm 27:1
“The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid?”
Devotional
Fear often tries to take control of our hearts when we face
uncertainty, danger, or difficult situations. It can make us feel small, weak,
and unsure of what lies ahead. But Psalm 27:1 gives us a powerful declaration
of faith: “The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear?”
When God is our light, He guides us through darkness. Even
when the path ahead seems unclear, His presence brings clarity, direction, and
hope. We do not have to walk in fear because God is leading us step by step.
The verse also reminds us that God is our salvation and our
stronghold. A stronghold is a place of safety and protection. This means that
no matter what challenges we face, we are secure in God’s care. His strength
surrounds us, and His power protects us.
Faith over fear means choosing to focus on who God is rather
than on what we are facing. When we remember that God is our light, our
salvation, and our protector, fear begins to lose its hold on us.
We may still face difficult situations, but we do not face
them alone. God stands with us, strengthening us and giving us courage. His
presence gives us confidence to move forward, even when we feel afraid.
Today, let this truth fill your heart: the Lord is your
light and your salvation. There is no need to be afraid. Trust in Him, stand
firm in faith, and allow His strength to overcome every fear.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for being my light and my salvation. When fear
tries to enter my heart, remind me that You are my stronghold and my protector.
Help me to trust You more each day and to walk in faith instead of fear. Fill
me with Your courage and peace as I rely on Your presence. In Jesus name, Amen.
