Bible Verse
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give
to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be
afraid.”
Devotional
In today’s world, many people search for peace. We often
hope that peace will come when our problems are solved, when life becomes
easier, or when everything goes according to our plans. However, the peace that
the world offers is often temporary and easily shaken by difficult
circumstances.
In John 14:27, Jesus gives His followers a special promise.
He says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” This peace is different
from the peace the world gives. It is a deep and lasting peace that comes from
knowing that God is in control.
Jesus spoke these words to His disciples during a time when
they were about to face uncertainty and fear. Yet instead of leaving them with
worry, He left them with His peace. This peace does not depend on perfect
situations. Instead, it comes from trusting in God’s presence and His promises.
When we bring our worries, fears, and burdens to God, He
fills our hearts with a calm assurance that He is with us. Even when life feels
overwhelming, God’s peace can guard our hearts and minds.
Today, remember that Jesus offers you His peace. No matter
what troubles you may face, His peace is greater than your fears. When you
place your trust in Him, you can experience a calm and confident heart.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for the peace that only You can give. When my
heart feels troubled or afraid, help me remember that Your peace is always
available to me. Teach me to trust You more and to place my worries in Your
hands. Fill my heart with Your calm presence and help me walk each day in Your
peace. In Jesus name, Amen.
