Devotional
In our daily lives, we often rely on people around us. We
seek advice from friends, support from family, and help from others when we
face challenges. While relationships are important and God often uses people to
bless us, the Bible reminds us that our ultimate trust should be placed in the
Lord.
Psalm 118:8 teaches us a powerful truth: it is better to
take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans. People can disappoint us,
circumstances can change, and human strength has its limits. But God is always
faithful, unchanging, and completely trustworthy.
Trusting God means recognizing that He is the true source of
our security and hope. When we place our confidence in Him, we find a
foundation that will never fail. Even when others cannot help us, God is always
present and ready to guide us.
This verse does not tell us to stop trusting people
completely, but it reminds us that God should always be first in our hearts.
When our trust begins with God, our relationships and decisions become stronger
because they are built on His wisdom.
Today, let us remember where our true security comes from.
When we take refuge in the Lord, we discover a peace and confidence that the
world cannot offer.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for being my refuge and my strength. Help me to
place my trust in You above everything else. When I feel uncertain or
disappointed, remind me that You are always faithful. Guide my heart so that my
confidence remains in You and not in human strength alone. In Jesus name, Amen.
