James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives
generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
Devotional
Life often presents us with decisions that are not easy to
make. Sometimes we are unsure about which path to take, what choice is right,
or how we should respond to certain situations. In moments like these, we may
feel confused or overwhelmed.
James 1:5 gives us a beautiful and comforting promise. It
tells us that if we lack wisdom, we can ask God for it. Our heavenly Father is
generous and willing to guide His children. He does not criticize us for
asking, and He does not withhold His wisdom from those who seek Him sincerely.
God’s wisdom is different from human understanding. While
the world often depends on personal experience or human reasoning, God’s wisdom
comes from His perfect knowledge and love. When we seek His guidance, He helps
us see situations more clearly and choose the path that honors Him.
This verse also reminds us that prayer is the first step
when we need direction. Instead of relying only on our own understanding, we
are invited to come before God and ask for His wisdom.
Today, if you are facing a decision or feeling uncertain
about the future, bring your questions to God. Trust that He hears you and that
He will faithfully guide your steps with His wisdom.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for being a God who generously gives wisdom to
those who ask. When I feel uncertain or confused, help me to turn to You first. Guide my thoughts, my decisions, and my steps. Fill my heart
with Your wisdom so that I may live in a way that honors You each day. In Jesus name, Amen.
