Bible Verse
John 3:17
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the
world, but to save the world through him.”
Devotional
John 3:17 reveals the heart of God behind the cross. Jesus
did not come into the world to condemn us, but to save us. This is the message
of grace and love that stands at the center of the gospel.
The cross of Christ is often associated with suffering, but
it is also the greatest expression of God’s love. Instead of giving us the
punishment we deserve, God chose to offer us salvation through His Son. Jesus
took our place so that we could receive forgiveness and new life.
Preparing our hearts begins with understanding this truth.
Sometimes we live with fear, thinking that God is always ready to judge us. But
this verse reminds us that God’s desire is to rescue, restore, and redeem us.
A prepared heart is one that receives God’s love with
humility and gratitude. It is a heart that no longer hides in guilt or shame
but comes boldly to God, knowing that He offers forgiveness and grace.
The cross invites us to respond. It calls us to believe in
Jesus, to accept His gift of salvation, and to live a life that reflects His
love. When we truly understand the purpose of the cross, our hearts are
changed, and we begin to see ourselves and others through the lens of God’s
grace.
Today, reflect on the love of God shown through the cross.
Receive His salvation, let go of fear and condemnation, and walk in the freedom
of His grace.
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for sending Jesus not to condemn me, but to save
me. Help me to fully understand and receive Your love. Prepare my heart to live
in Your grace and to walk in the freedom You have given me. Teach me to reflect
Your love to others each day. In Jesus name, Amen.
